HVAC Construction / Mechanical Engineer Entry Level

Company Overview
Formed in 1964, Henick-Lane is a leading East Coast provider of reliable, cost-effective, and state-of-the-art HVAC construction, installation, and maintenance service. The company is currently seeking qualified candidates to work as an Entry-Level / Intern candidate in the Estimating Department that may eventually lead to a Project Manager role. The position is for full-time applicants.
Description:
- Reading, understanding, and interpreting design drawings, including mechanical layouts, architectural layouts, and specifications.
- Learning and assisting in design suggestions as related to cost reductions of designs.
- Learning pricing structures and methods for mechanical systems.
- Assist in purchasing and/or obtaining quotations.
- Assist in estimating piping and ductwork systems.
- Attend walkthroughs of construction sites, learning and assisting in the methodology of construction of mechanical systems.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or construction management from an accredited college.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively interface with all levels of personnel and management.
- Ability to work and thrive in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to self-motivate and work productively with minimal supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Internship Program:
A full-time intern will start in our Estimating Department, guided by our Chief Estimator with over 20 years of experience in the industry. A performance review will be done after six months of the hire date to establish a full-time salary position for the person(s).
After the six-month period, based on the feedback from the Chief Estimator and the intern candidate, the person is typically promoted to our project management or estimating team to learn the other phase of operations in the industry.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
