Position Overview
Rockwell Automation is a global technology leader dedicated to making manufacturing more productive, sustainable, and agile. As part of the Platform and Infrastructure team at SecureOT by Rockwell, you will help extend our developer tooling and testing capabilities. This role reports to the team lead and collaborates with various SecureOT development teams to support their product development efforts through innovative tooling. You will work in a hybrid setting from our Milwaukee or Mayfield Heights office.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product development teams to understand their needs and build tools and frameworks to support them.
- Develop and maintain automated processes and tools for building, testing, and deploying code.
- Gain in-depth expertise in the tools, languages, and frameworks our software is built on to support other developers.
- Maintain internal documentation to assist developers in setting up and using the tools in their environment.
Required Qualifications
- Familiarity with at least one of the languages and frameworks used at SecureOT (e.g., .NET, C#, Angular, Typescript, or Python) with a keen interest in learning others.
- Understanding of CI/CD practices and experience with build systems.
- Ability to identify build and tooling gaps and execute design and development solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective internal collaboration and documentation.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (Note: We do not sponsor employment visas.)
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional software development experience.
- 2+ years working on engineering projects focused on developer tools, productivity, and/or operations.
- Experience with Azure DevOps.
- Familiarity with various test automation styles and their trade-offs.
- Experience working with containers and containerizing existing applications using technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, or Mesos.
- Experience writing plugins or hooks for development tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Wiz.
