Position Overview

Crothall Healthcare is hiring immediately for full-time and part-time Patient Transporter positions at Advent Health Tampa. Location: Advent Health Tampa - 3100 East Fletcher Avenue, Tampa, FL 33613. Schedule: Full time and part time schedules; days and hours may vary. Salary: $14.00 per hour. Requirements: No experience is necessary. Patient Transporters are responsible for facilitating internal hospital patient moves by ensuring the safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment, and patient-related items.

Key Responsibilities

  • Properly and safely transports patients, secures IVs, drainage tubes, and ensures patient safety.
  • Uses wheelchairs and other approved rolling stock to perform patient transportation duties in accordance with established protocols.
  • Demonstrates competency in transporting patients across all age groups.
  • Ensures the safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients to their destinations using the proper equipment.
  • Communicates effectively with nursing personnel, clinicians, technicians, and dispatch to coordinate moves.
  • Maintains patient comfort by offering blankets, ensuring modesty, and engaging in appropriate conversation.
  • Alerts nursing staff immediately to any signs of patient distress or equipment malfunction.
  • Maintains equipment and reports any repairs needed.
  • Complies with all applicable federal, state, and JCAHO regulatory agency standards.
  • Adheres to facility confidentiality and patient rights policies in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
