Position Overview
The Medical Progressive Care Unit is a 21-bed high acuity step-down unit caring for critically ill adult medical patients. The patient population includes those with complex organ diseases requiring mechanical ventilation, vasoactive drips, and continuous monitoring. Common diagnoses include sepsis, respiratory failure, GI bleeding, liver failure, and DKA. This highly skilled floor offers new staff instrumental experience with nurse-to-patient ratios of 2:1 or 3:1 depending on acuity. There is a strong opportunity for career growth on the MPCU.
Salary Range: Minimum 18.41/hour - Maximum 27.70/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Active Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) in Maryland is required
- One year of clinical experience (e.g., home care, outpatient, or acute care [hospital preferred] technician experience within the most recent two years; volunteer work as EMT or CRT may be considered)
- BLS CPR certification required (AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted)
