RN Med Surg - Registered Nurse Per Diem PRN - $49.66 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to patients on the Medical-Surgical unit.
• Perform initial assessments and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Implement, evaluate, and adjust patient care plans in line with hospital protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor patient health status and vital signs, reporting any significant changes.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
• Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe, sterile environment.
• Document patient information, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.
• Follow established policies to maintain patient confidentiality and professional conduct.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 9 months Med Surg experience within the last 2 years (preferred).
• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Minnesota or a compact state license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and CPR certification as applicable.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
• Knowledge of nursing procedures and protocols, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to providing compassionate and reliable care.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work varied shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to different healthcare facilities in the area.
