Position Overview

Porch Group is a leading vertical software and insurance platform focused on empowering homebuyers. As the Senior Financial Analyst, Insurance Finance, you will report to the Manager of Insurance Finance and play a vital role in guiding financial decisions by analyzing data, forecasting trends, and providing strategic insights for their insurance division. This remote role, based in the United States, is critical in cost analysis, efficiency improvement, and supporting leadership with data-driven strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for P&C operations and the Reinsurance Program.
  • Monitor financial performance and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist in forecasting and scenario analysis for the P&C insurance division in alignment with organizational goals and compliance standards.
  • Prepare data and analysis for reinsurance submissions, ad hoc requests, and facilitate reinsurance contract reviews.
  • Develop and maintain quote and authorization spreadsheets for reinsurance placements to model financial results.
  • Communicate financial results, forecasts, and strategies to internal stakeholders including senior management.
  • Implement best practices aimed at enhancing efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (a master's degree or professional certification such as CPA, AINS, CFA is a plus).
  • 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably within the P&C insurance industry.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance accounting principles, financial modeling, and reinsurance.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools such as Excel, accounting software, and financial modeling applications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, lead financial initiatives, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
