Job Description
Position Overview
McClatchy Media, the Publisher of Us Weekly, InTouch, Women's World and First for Women, is looking for a Content Marketing Assistant who will report to the Senior Director, McClatchy Lifestyle and Entertainment, Special Interest Publications. This role requires an analytical individual to build and monetize consumer demand across our portfolio. The candidate will plan, execute, and evaluate newsstand marketing campaigns across online and offline channels while assisting with strategic initiatives and day-to-day marketing activities for driving newsstand sales and managing our online storefront.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Execute Marketing Strategies – Assist the newsstand team in creating comprehensive marketing plans and strategies to drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and sales growth.
- Brand Management – Maintain and enhance the company's brand image ensuring consistency across all marketing materials and communications.
- Liaise with the finance team to process and ensure timely payments to external editorial teams, retail partners, and other third-party vendors.
- Performance Tracking & Reporting – Update and distribute weekly/monthly performance reports to senior management, monitor and analyze KPIs to optimize future campaigns, and source specific P&L reporting.
- Collaboration – Work with cross-functional teams (Production, Editorial, Finance, and Fulfillment) to integrate objectives, strategy, and execution.
- Online Shop Product Management – Oversee weekly management of the online magazine store and eCommerce product information platform, ensuring accurate content and consistent collaboration with smaller publication partners.
- Market Research and Analysis – Conduct research to identify trends, customer preferences, competitive landscapes, and growth opportunities.
- Content Creation and Campaign Management – Oversee creation of content for various marketing campaigns across channels (social media, email, digital ads, etc.).
- Partnerships and Collaborations – Develop relationships with external partners, influencers, and agencies to drive marketing initiatives and expand reach.
- Customer Feedback and Insights – Gather customer feedback through surveys and reviews to continually improve products, services, and marketing strategies.
- Competitive Analysis – Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities to ensure the company remains competitive and innovative.
Required Qualifications
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft applications.
- Detail oriented and results-focused, with the ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Self-starter who can work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills across various levels of management.
- Ability to adapt and perform in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Internship or 1-2 years of experience in marketing or at a magazine/print publication is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree.
Compensation
- Salary: $45,000
