Job Description
Position Overview
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to join the AWS Services FP&A team. The successful candidate will own and manage AWS Services revenue, including the financial modeling and analysis of the global forecasting process. This position will work closely with multiple stakeholders across the organization to align on critical inputs and support the Services owners with robust analytical tools and insights.
This is a high visibility, broad, and inclusive role—integral to collaborating with AWS Services finance teams, various AWS FP&A teams, FinTech, and the Accounting organization—to provide actionable insights for the AWS Services CEO, CFO, and Services Finance leads on revenue and top-line metrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Be the key finance partner for revenue supporting 200+ AWS Service business unit teams across AWS.
- Own AWS Service revenue and effectively convey the overall AWS story to business and finance leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate and interpret key inputs and variance drivers.
- Manage critical revenue processes, including monthly/quarterly financial reviews, quarterly forecasts, and planning cycles (both short-term and long-term).
- Innovate by inventing and simplifying planning and reporting processes on behalf of all AWS Services finance teams.
- Proactively communicate across the AWS Services finance teams to coordinate a complex and interconnected series of deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of tax, finance, or a related analytical field experience.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, business or a related field; alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with 3+ years in a quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance).
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in continuous improvement projects that scale and improve controllership with measurable results.
- Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
- Proficiency in financial modeling, P&L management, or analysis.
- Strong process management skills.
- Ability to perform financial and ad hoc analyses and provide data-driven recommendations to senior management.
- Experience in developing scalable financial reporting processes.

- Compensation: Base pay ranges from $60,200/year in the lowest geographic market to $128,800/year in the highest. Total compensation may include additional elements such as equity and sign-on payments.
