Position Overview
At Walmart Connect, we connect brands to Walmart’s 150 million weekly shoppers through meaningful, measurable media experiences. As a Senior Manager, Industry Marketing, you will translate our strategy into immersive, high-impact events that inspire advertisers, partners, and teams. You’ll be a storyteller, builder, and master organizer shaping Walmart Connect’s most influential moments while deepening relationships and driving business results.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the strategic planning and execution of Walmart Connect’s full portfolio of internal and external events.
- Define event objectives, KPIs, measurement frameworks, and success criteria aligned to marketing and business goals.
- Manage and develop two Industry Marketing Managers, fostering collaboration and ensuring excellence across event workstreams.
- Present event strategies, concepts, and plans to senior stakeholders for alignment and approval.
- Build and manage cross-functional timelines, workflows, and stakeholder planning processes.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Communications, Product Marketing, Media Insights, and Executive leadership to support strategic priorities.
- Work with Brand & Content Strategy and Creative teams to develop narrative-driven event experiences and maintain a consistent brand identity.
- Lead venue sourcing, vendor evaluation, negotiations, and contract management including production, A/V, F&B, décor, and logistics.
- Oversee registration, attendee management, itineraries, and all on-site operations as the event captain.
- Conduct post-event surveys, reporting, and performance analysis to measure impact.
- Manage budgets, vendor payments, and reconciliation processes.
- Document learnings and identify opportunities to innovate and enhance future experiences.
- Uphold Walmart’s values and commitment to cost-efficiency in all actions.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years in Industry Marketing, event strategy, or large-scale event production with a proven track record in executive-level and client-facing events.
- Experience in media, advertising, retail media, or technology with excellent vendor and budget management skills.
- Exceptional storytelling, communication, and project management skills with the ability to turn business insights into compelling, experience-led strategies.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment and building trust across cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to travel for on-site event execution.
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field and/or 3 years' experience in marketing; alternatively, 7 years’ experience in marketing or related field.
- Demonstrated history of leading marquee events from concept through execution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading cross-functional projects in marketing or related fields.
- Supervisory experience and a strong background in team leadership.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or related advanced degree.
