Job Description

Position Overview

Located at the DMV Headquarters in Sacramento, the Information Systems Division with the California Department of Motor Vehicles is seeking a motivated Information Technology Associate to support our enterprise ServiceNow platform. This role is ideal for someone early in their ServiceNow career who has a strong technical foundation and is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a large statewide IT environment. You will assist in platform configuration, support workflow automation, integrate external systems via APIs, and help implement improvements across IT service management processes.

Compensation: $4,935.00 - $9,004.00

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in ServiceNow platform configuration and support workflow automation.
  • Integrate external systems via APIs.
  • Help implement improvements across IT service management processes.
  • Respond to after-hours calls and lead multi-disciplinary IT teams in troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Contribute to initiatives in a large statewide IT environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Must meet the minimum qualification as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ASSOCIATE per the class specification.
  • Clear a Background Investigation and Fingerprint/Criminal Record Clearance prior to hire.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of ServiceNow administration and IT service management.
  • Possess eligibility for appointment and the authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of IT experience; exposure to ITSM, ITIL, or service desk environments preferred.
  • Understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Change, Problem, Request).
  • Basic understanding of ServiceNow administration through professional experience or coursework/certification.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues methodically and communicate solutions clearly.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and customer service skills with proven teamwork in a government setting.
