Position Overview

Kice Industries has an exciting opportunity to join our world-class Automation team where excellence comes together through innovation, diligence, and execution. We are looking for an experienced Controls Engineer who will lead projects, program and troubleshoot electrical and controls systems, provide support to customers, review product design specifications, perform system commissioning, and negotiate with vendors. This role is Full-time and requires working in person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acts as project lead on assigned deliverables by ensuring customer satisfaction and timely completion of projects.
  • Programs and troubleshoots issues for electrical and controls systems.
  • Provides programming support to customers and co-workers.
  • Reviews product design specifications and recommends the best programming techniques to address customer needs.
  • Visits customer sites to perform system commissioning, troubleshooting, and some sales services to generate business.
  • Negotiates with vendors to secure the best pricing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is a must.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with automation system design.
  • Proficiency with at least two (preferably all) of the following software: MS Office, Allen Bradley RSLogix 500, FactoryTalk Studio 5k, Factory Talk View Studio, and Connected Components Workbench.
  • Basic understanding of complex ethernet networking.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of controls and electrical system design.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support projects.
  • Must be able to wear the required Personal Protective Equipment at customer sites.
  • Ability to apply basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in various units of measure.
  • Effective verbal communication in one-on-one situations with management and co-workers.
  • Strong attention to detail, dependability, and the initiative to work independently.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan work activities, use time efficiently, and work within deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some experience with VBA and SQL would be helpful.
  • Knowledge of Power Distribution is a plus.
