Store Sales Associate

Position Overview

Citi Trends is seeking a dedicated Store Sales Associate to join one of the largest chains in the value-priced urban apparel industry. This role plays a key part in delivering excellent customer service, handling transactions efficiently, and supporting overall store operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing freight
• Assisting with price changes/markdowns
• Balancing the register in accordance with company policy
• Calling out prices during transactions
• Bagging merchandise efficiently during customer transactions
• Handling all cash, checks, and credit cards accurately
• Obtaining management approval for returns, voids, and checks
• Performing maintenance and housekeeping duties as assigned
• Providing proper customer service by greeting customers, adhering to fitting room policies, processing transactions in a timely manner, and inviting customers to return
• Following all safety procedures
• Maintaining a professional appearance, including wearing a name tag
• Assisting management with merchandising the sales floor according to stock levels and other tasks as required
• Explaining exchange/refund policies to customers after transactions
• Assisting the Store Manager with Loss Prevention procedures to prevent shoplifting and cash losses

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
• Proficiency in mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages)
