Job Description
Position Overview
To be eligible to enlist in the U.S. Navy, candidates must be between the ages of 18-34. You’ll receive specialized training in IT, network support, computer programming, web development, and information security. Whether joining as an Information Systems Technician to ensure mission-critical networks remain active, as a Cryptologic Technician Networks to conduct offensive and defensive cyber operations, or as an Intelligence Specialist to collect and analyze vital intelligence, you will help keep our Navy at the forefront of technology and security.
These roles work in diverse environments worldwide – from shore commands to ships, aircraft, submarines, and even part-time opportunities through the Navy Reserve.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that vital network systems and related communications are designed, maintained, and restored without interruption.
- Conduct cyber operations – both offensive and defensive – to protect sensitive data and track potential threats.
- Collect, analyze, and compile intelligence briefings to support high-ranking Navy officials in mission-critical decisions.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizen or equivalent
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum age requirements: some roles require candidates to be 17 years or older; enlistment eligibility is between 18-34
