Marketing & Business Development Coordinator - Legal Directory Submissions

Position Overview
At BCLP we’ve built our firm on the foundations of thinking differently. We are looking for a Marketing & Business Development Coordinator – Legal Directory Submissions to support our Proposal/Client Development team and help expand business relationships and services to drive revenues and achieve financial growth. In this role, you will collaborate with business development teams and partners firmwide, managing submissions (including U.S. Chambers, Legal500, AmLaw 200, and other surveys), maintaining our legal directory database, and producing high-quality metrics & analysis. Key Responsibilities
Legal Directory/Survey/Submission (Chambers and Legal500)
- Maintain, update and track deadlines, new submissions, changes in guidelines and other relevant communications.
- Track rankings results year-over-year, produce comparison charts and research competitors to improve rankings and identify new submission opportunities.
- Collaborate with business development team members to prepare initial submission drafts and manage the entire submission lifecycle.
- Lead and implement submission strategy with partners and business development teams.
- Contribute and lead on key submission processes across the firm.
- Maintain and update awards, accolades and editorial commentary for all legal directory guides.
- Update referee information in Dynamics (CRM system) for Chambers and Legal500 directories.
- Coordinate with BD members on lawyer communications with client references, ensuring timely follow-up.
- Organize interviews between researchers and partners, compiling talking points in advance.
- Coordinate with the communications team to prepare and post press releases and website announcements regarding directory rankings and awards.
- Participate in and contribute to legal directory training modules for US, UK, and EMEA business development teams.
Industry, Market and Competitive Intelligence
- Collaborate with Business Development Analysts to gather, analyze, and distribute intelligence on competitors’ services, market conditions, and client trends.
Proposal Development and Project Management
- Work with the global proposal team to provide project management for multi-practice and multi-jurisdictional business opportunities.
- Support special reporting projects related to proposals for Project Advance, Growth Engine, and Accelerate Strategic Accounts, including data reporting for Mansfield, ESG, and Innovation initiatives.
Experience Management
- Manage the library of Legal Directory submissions, FAQs, the submission resource center, and the submission database.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing marketing and business development initiatives with demonstrated results – for example, awareness levels achieved, leads generated, revenue generated.
- Experience in a highly entrepreneurial/start-up environment is preferred.
- Strong ability to think creatively and innovatively, with an openness to new ways of working.
- Demonstrable marketing skills and a thorough understanding of the submission process within a law firm or professional services setting.
- Excellent written communication and project management skills.
- Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail.
- Ability to understand how technology, process, and data analytics combine to deliver new legal products and services.
- Capable of working autonomously as well as part of a multi-disciplinary, highly collaborative team.
- Ability to inspire confidence in others.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to multi-task while managing competing priorities/projects.
- Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines.
- Strong influencing skills and an openness to adopting digital marketing approaches.
- Comfortable using marketing technology (e.g. iManage, Foundation, Vuture, Dynamics CRM, WordPress, Microsoft Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Willingness to work varying hours, including some evenings and weekends as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum two (2) years of marketing experience, preferably in legal innovation.
- Experience in a law firm or professional services environment is preferred.
