Job Description
Position Overview
The Sales Representative is responsible for achieving predetermined sales goals and quotas within their team’s assigned territory. They must establish, build, and maintain customer relations through constant communications and in‑person appointments. This role focuses on maintaining expert knowledge of our market‑leading product portfolio and involves consulting surgeons in the operating room regarding the use of Arthrex products and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet and exceed sales objectives for the territory by working with surgeons and healthcare professionals.
- Increase territory results by building and maintaining strong business relationships and implementing effective sales strategies.
- Communicate with existing and new customer accounts regarding product updates, changes in the product portfolio, and educational programs.
- Implement new sales plans and marketing strategies to position the organization competitively.
- Cross-sell additional products or manage new product introductions as they become available.
- Address any account issues that arise.
- Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of information while upholding ethical standards and compliance with applicable laws and policies.
- Receive coaching, training, or mentoring from the sales manager and share knowledge with peers.
- Stay current on product features, benefits, industry trends, and competitive data.
- Participate in sales meetings and professional association meetings as required.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds on a regular basis.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3+ years of orthopedic or related experience; sports experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Demonstrated ability to relate to customers and constituents within the orthopedic/sports medicine market.
- Must be comfortable in open operating room environments.
- Knowledge of orthopedic procedures and terminology as it specifically relates to Arthrex.
- Understanding of operating room protocols and procedures.
- Ability to learn a high level of technical information including anatomy and surgical indications.
- Prior sales experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office and ability to create an effective business plan (30/60/90).
- Commission-driven individual with strong public speaking, communication skills, and a strong sense of urgency.
- Ability to work well under pressure, work independently, and take responsibility for decisions.
- Must abide by all Compliance and Code of Conduct policies.
- Current driver’s license with access to personal transportation.
- Willingness to cover the geographical areas of Pullman, WA and Moscow, ID.
