Hospital Services Technicians are responsible for traveling between customer healthcare facilities to provide on-site proactive collection and exchange of waste containers for various Stericycle programs including Sharps Management Service, Pharmaceutical Waste, Controlled Substances, and Document Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel between customer healthcare facilities to monitor, collect, and exchange waste containers for various programs including Sharps Management Service, Pharmaceutical Waste, Controlled Substances, and Document Management.
- Interact professionally with onsite customer staff to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded.
- Maintain a rigid collection and service schedule.
- Communicate duty status on a defined schedule.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including extensive lifting, walking, bending, and pushing (lifting up to 55 pounds and moving carts weighing up to 500 pounds).
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; or 2+ years’ work experience.
- Strong communication skills and tact with a proven record of superior customer service.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between customer facilities.
- Familiarity with computer/handheld software applications including spreadsheets and programs to track daily KPIs.
- May require mandatory immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements.
