A Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is sought to provide expert cardiopulmonary services within a fast-paced hospital environment. This role requires delivering timely diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care to both inpatients and outpatients, following established medical protocols and departmental policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during invasive and non-invasive respiratory procedures.
- Manage ventilators, including initiation, maintenance, and weaning.
- Deliver medicated aerosols using compressed medical gases.
- Perform airway maintenance, including tracheostomy and endotracheal tube management.
- Conduct pulmonary function studies, cardiac and pulmonary stress tests, and blood gas analysis.
- Insert arterial lines as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must possess: current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
- Active: Illinois Respiratory Therapist (RT) license is mandatory.
- Minimum: of 2 years recent clinical experience managing ventilators, ventilator weaning, tracheostomy care, ET tube management, CPAP, BiPAP, and nebulizer treatments.
- Current: American Heart Association ACLS and BLS certifications.
- Experience: within an acute care hospital setting preferred.

Compensation
