GEICO is seeking a highly motivated Tech Services Associate II to join our Technical Field Engineering team. This role provides on-site technical support and maintenance across our regional offices, ensuring seamless IT operations. The ideal candidate will be proactive and have a strong technical background with expertise in hardware, software, networking, automation, and AV systems support. This is an on-site full-time role that requires your physical presence as you play a pivotal part in transforming GEICO’s traditional IT model into a tech-driven organization.
Location: Tampa, FL office
Schedule: Onsite 5 days a week (8:30am - 5:00pm) – with possible travel to other locations
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, network, VoIP, and AV systems.
- Understand core network technologies such as DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, VLAN, and SNMP.
- Provide direct technical support to associates both in person and remotely.
- Install, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure and equipment.
- Monitor system performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Engage with IT personnel for issue resolution and provide on-call support for high severity incidents.
- Support technical projects such as office relocations, infrastructure upgrades, and technology rollouts and ensure project completion within scope and timelines.
- Provide detailed documentation on technical issues and projects while continuously identifying process improvements and innovative solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or 4 years of equivalent experience).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer-facing skills coupled with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple competing priorities.
- Physical ability to lift and transport IT equipment (40-50 lbs.).
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment where travel may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Net+, Sec+, Microsoft AZ-800, CCNA, or Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP).
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Autopilot, Microsoft Intune, PowerShell scripting, and Zscaler.
