Position Overview

Public Relations Assistant Account Executive – Health PR is a full-time, hourly position based in our NYC office. Location: NYC office. Schedule: Up to 3 weekdays in-office with the remainder working remotely. Salary: $24.00/hour to $25.00/hour. In this role, you will support our health communications practice by crafting compelling pitch letters, news releases, and other communications materials for clients in the pharmaceutical, MedTech, health advocacy, and broader healthcare ecosystem. Applicants must have a college degree in Public Relations, Communications, or Journalism, strong writing and storytelling skills, and be available for immediate hire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in writing and distributing pitch letters, news releases, backgrounders, fact sheets, bios, newsletters, and other health communications materials.
  • Support patient ambassador programs with coordination, communications, and logistical support in compliance with regulatory and legal guidelines.
  • Develop relationships with media, patient ambassadors, advocacy organizations, and third-party stakeholders to bolster client messaging.
  • Compile comprehensive media lists, actively pitch to media outlets, and secure earned media coverage.
  • Write, proofread, and edit client-related documents including pitches, press materials, and news releases.
  • Support client media briefings, events, speaking opportunities, and develop award submissions.
  • Monitor, track, and report on earned, owned, and social media coverage of client news and competitor developments.
  • Conduct research on industry or program-relevant topics and participate actively in client meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field. Education: Required.
  • Prior public relations agency internship or work experience, ideally in a client-facing role supporting health communications.
  • Excellent organizational skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and a keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with public relations/communications programs as evidenced by coursework, internships, or related work experience.
  • Experience with research and measurement tools (e.g., Cision, Meltwater) is a plus.
