Software Engineer, AI Engineer, Machine Learning​/ ML Engineer

Position Overview

Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems that are safe and beneficial for users and society. As a Software Engineer, Growth, you will join the Claude.ai product team as a founding member of our growth initiative. In this role, you will work with a cross‐functional team of engineers, data scientists, marketers, and product managers to design, implement, and optimize data-driven growth initiatives that drive user acquisition, engagement, retention, and revenue growth while shaping our overall growth strategy from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement technical solutions to support user acquisition, activation, retention, and revenue growth
• Design and execute A/B tests and experiments to optimize user onboarding, feature adoption, and overall product experience
• Collaborate with product and marketing teams to identify growth opportunities and translate them into technical requirements
• Implement tracking and attribution systems to understand user behavior and measure the effectiveness of growth initiatives
• Contribute to the development of AI-powered personalization and recommendation systems to enhance user engagement

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a software engineer, with a focus on growth engineering or related fields
• Strong practical coding skills, ideally in full-stack development, with experience in data analysis and experimentation frameworks
• A data-driven approach to problem-solving with a keen eye for identifying patterns and opportunities in user behavior and metrics
• Passion for leveraging AI to reach and benefit a wide audience coupled with the ability to tackle challenges in scaling AI products
• Experience working in a rapid experimentation environment while maintaining high standards for code quality and user experience
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment working closely with cross-functional partners

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with machine learning and AI technologies, particularly in personalization and recommendation systems
• Familiarity with product-led growth strategies and implementing viral loops
• Experience with user segmentation and cohort analysis
• A forward-thinking vision for AI product growth and a drive to realize that vision

Benefits & Perks

• Compensation: $300,000—$405,000 USD
• Location-based hybrid policy: Expect to work from one of our offices at least 25% of the time, with additional on-site requirements for some roles
