Job Description

Position Overview

Under general supervision of the department manager, medical staff, nursing staff, and Sr Medical Assistant/Lead Medical Assistant, the Certified Medical Assistant follows policies, procedures, and professional guidelines. The role provides clinical and clerical support including patient rooming, assistance with medical procedures, cleaning of equipment, chart preparation, and obtaining referral notes, images, and lab results prior to patient visits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and clerical support under general supervision.
  • Assist with patient rooming, medical procedures, chart preparation, cleaning of equipment, and obtaining referral notes, images, and lab results.
  • Draw blood for laboratory testing and ensure proper specimen handling.
  • Document patient information accurately using electronic health record systems.
  • Perform various clerical duties including answering phones, greeting patients, filing, faxing, and scanning documents.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED - Required.
  • Certified as Clinical Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, or MA-ARMA.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Minimum of 3 months of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and basic clinical procedures.
