Position Overview
Use your accounting background to become an FBI Special Agent! Transitioning from finance to a role defending our nation, you will work on challenging cases including cyberattacks, terrorism, fraud, and evolving threats. With specialized training, real-world investigative exposure, and cutting-edge technology at your disposal, you’ll refine your financial analysis and investigative skills while building the foundation for leadership. Note: This position is exempt from the federal civilian hiring freeze.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and conduct investigations of potential violations of federal laws, cybersecurity, and public safety.
- Exercise judgment, resourcefulness, and versatility in meeting investigative demands.
- Create and maintain effective liaison relationships with federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international law enforcement agencies.
- Maintain a level of physical fitness to ensure readiness for law enforcement duties.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen and meet the FBI’s Employment Eligibility requirements.
- Must be able to obtain a Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Clearance.
- Must be willing to travel as required.
- Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in accounting, business administration, finance, or forensic accounting.

- Compensation: $99,461.00–$128,329.00 per year, commensurate with base, locality, and availability pay.
