Position Overview

Location: Clay
To be eligible to enlist in the U.S. Navy, candidates must be between the ages of 18-34. At any given moment, hundreds of complex networked computer systems are operating in tandem to keep ships and submarines performing at their best. The specialized training provided in this field paves the way to careers in IT and network support, computer programming, web development, and information security. Open roles include Information Systems Technician, Cryptologic Technician Networks, and Intelligence Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

  • Information Systems Technician: When a network goes down, vital information may be lost—from global satellite data to special intelligence communications. Trained Information Systems Technicians ensure that networks and related systems are designed, operated, and maintained without interruption.
  • Cryptologic Technician Networks: Use state-of-the-art technology to perform offensive and defensive cyber operations. This role involves investigating and tracking adversaries while protecting critical networks from attack and providing expertise in communication defense and forensics.
  • Intelligence Specialist: Collect and analyze intelligence data—including information on foreign cultures, enemy movements, and weather forecasts—to create cohesive briefings for high-ranking Navy officials and ensure mission readiness.
