Position Overview
Division: Bay Area Main • Project Location: Walnut Creek, CA 94595 USA • Job Type: Regular • Job Classification: Entry • Education: Associates Degree • Job Family: Construction • Compensation: Salaried Non-Exempt
The role is involved in engineering and administration of projects in the Special Projects Division (SPD) or other Business Unit departments. Reporting to a Project Engineer or Engineer, the candidate will contribute to project teams by managing documentation, communication, and assisting with estimates and close-out records.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in obtaining and reviewing information and approvals for processing of shop drawings, product data, and samples; and facilitate communication across all levels of the project team.
- Manage communication including submissions and responses for Requests for Information (RFI’s).
- Assist in preparing estimates for work changes and review Change Order requests from subcontractors.
- Study contract drawings, specifications, and shop drawings to ensure proper coordination and installation.
- Maintain and update contract documents, electronic web-based documents, and project logs.
- Distribute construction-related information to appropriate parties.
- Support Engineering to ensure timely release of materials and equipment for fabrication in line with the construction schedule.
- Assist in preparing final project records including close-out documents and Operations/Maintenance (OM) Manuals.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of college education from an accredited degree program in Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
- Preferred experience in building construction, engineering, or an equivalent field.
- Demonstrated good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Initiative and a strong desire to learn.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer applications, data entry, and the Microsoft suite.
- Basic understanding of scheduling programs is desired.
