Job Description
Position Overview
The Cenergistic Energy Specialist serves as the “face” of Cenergistic’s energy conservation program, establishing accountability for energy consumption and driving the organization’s energy conservation initiatives. The role involves identifying savings opportunities, working with personnel to execute implementation strategies, and utilizing technology and software to manage and analyze utility bill data and energy consumption information. Candidates will also be required to sign a confidentiality agreement and commit to a detailed description of services.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify energy consumption, analyze data, and make recommendations to Client leadership regarding energy conservation measures.
- Utilize technology related to energy consumption, utility usage, and EMS data.
- Perform on-site audits and manage all utility consumption data to ensure accurate savings measurements.
- Meet with the Client’s Program Liaison at least monthly to report on the energy program status.
- Coordinate with internal and external Public Relations groups to promote the Client’s energy management program successes.
- Report quarterly to the governing board on the status and success of the energy program.
- Maintain open communications with Client leadership, facilities, maintenance, and custodial staff.
- Report any observed safety hazards and coordinate with the maintenance director for repairs of energy management systems (EMS).
- Address comfort issues promptly and complete timely reports comparing performance to the implementation plan.
- Represent Cenergistic in a professional manner at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with 2-3 years’ work experience, or a high school equivalency diploma with six (6) years’ work experience.
- Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Above average written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to exercise good judgment in the implementation of policies and to promote client engagement in change initiatives.
- Proficiency in conducting presentations for both large and small groups.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Advanced experience with technology and personal computer operations including Microsoft Office—especially Excel—smartphone applications, and handheld tablets.
- Willingness to commit to irregular hours (nights, weekends, early mornings, holidays, and summer).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client locations.
