Position Overview
Hone your growing skills in industrial automation and become our industrial controls expert at AMS Controls – a world leader in the metal forming industry. Based in St. Louis, MO, you will configure, install, and project manage integrated industrial control systems both on-site and in our office. Key Responsibilities
- Project manage on-site installations and configurations of integrated control systems.
- Provide phone and e-mail support from the St. Louis office for end users.
- Test and configure new systems and replacement components.
- Collaborate with fellow technicians to design circuits and document procedures.
- Travel extensively – up to 15 days at a time, including international trips – to support client projects.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree and/or two years of experience in Industrial Controls, Industrial Electricity, Engineering, or a similar field.
- Ability to read and follow electrical prints for installation, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment.
- Hands-on experience with electricity, servos, VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, DVMs, and oscilloscopes; plus strong PC and networking skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication, mathematics, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Controls, Engineering, or a related field.
- Background in manufacturing operations or knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly metal forming and roll forming.
- Experience with Allen Bradley RSLogix systems, Bosch-Rexroth servo systems, basic hydraulics, NEC familiarity, and CAD software.

Mathematical competency (algebra and general math)
Familiarity with hydraulic systems and hydraulic prints
CAD software experience (nice to have)
Working with PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs
PC networking (DHCP, static IP settings)
Industrial automation
Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Experience with Allen Bradley RSLogix 500/5000 (preferred)
Experience with servos and oscilloscopes
Troubleshooting and repair
