Job Description
Position Overview
Quail Run Behavioral Health Hospital in Phoenix is seeking dynamic and talented Registered Nurses to join our Intake team. This role involves telephonic and in-person risk assessment, crisis intervention, coordinating the referral and intake process, determining the appropriate level of care, facilitating admissions, and maintaining communication with referral sources, families, patients and staff. Shifts include Mid Shift – Sun, Mon, Tue 12pm – 12:30am and Mon, Tue, Wed 12pm – 12:30am (each shift is 12 hours). May be assigned a Team Lead role at the discretion of the Intake and Assessment Director.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide telephonic and in-person risk assessment and crisis intervention.
- Serve as the initial contact with referral sources and potential patients.
- Coordinate the referral and intake process, determine the appropriate level of care, and facilitate admissions.
- Assist the Physician by conducting face-to-face clinical assessments including history of presenting illness, family dynamics, and psychosocial evaluations.
- Maintain effective communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice nursing in Arizona or compact privileges (or eligible to receive/renew).
- Current CPR or BLS certification.
- At least one year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting with patients aged 12-65 years. For our geriatric unit, 1 year of med/surge experience is strongly preferred.
- Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance card or ability to obtain it within 30 days of employment.
