Job Description

Position Overview

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company on a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities. Working at a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Columbus, OH, you will join the Fury Launch Team (FLT) and train for 3 months in Costa Mesa, CA before returning to Columbus full time by Q2 2026 (with housing, transportation, etc. provided). In this role as a Sr Quality Engineer, you will ensure that the Group 5 Autonomous Vehicle meets the highest quality standards throughout its design and production lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the design team to ensure quality is built into the product from the outset.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external functions to define and execute processes that deliver reliable products, including directing quality engineers in sub-systems, processes, production, and supplier development.
  • Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures for the Group 5 Autonomous Vehicle.
  • Conduct quality audits and inspections to identify and address issues during the product development process.
  • Establish and maintain quality metrics to track product quality and pinpoint areas for improvement.
  • Ensure that all quality-related documentation is complete, accurate, and up-to-date.
  • Define, execute, and improve product and process requirements and the overall product roadmap.
  • Set up and lead Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) and Material Review Board (MRB) activities, reviewing action effectiveness and sharing lessons learned.
  • Lead product health data analysis and communicate the top line quality of the project.
  • Support the continuous improvement of the Quality Management System and required documentation.
  • Assist with investigations, initiatives, and projects at the team or organizational level.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a similar technical field.
  • Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality and production processes with demonstrated team growth and resource management.
  • Working knowledge of design review and quality management in aviation systems, PCBA, harnessing, avionics, systems integration, composites/control surfaces, propulsion systems, and lethality systems.
  • Expertise in driving product quality and performance requirements including test, measurement system development, and optimization; familiarity with missile storage and maintenance processes.
  • Proven experience partnering with Reliability Engineering, chief engineers, architects, and customer-facing teams to meet customer requirements.
  • Working knowledge of product development methodologies such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Understanding of mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing processes with application of industry standards and best practices.
  • A strong ownership mindset with the capability to drive projects from inception to completion.
  • Analytical skills with experience in data mining, data quality, metrics generation, issue management systems, and statistical analysis tools (e.g., MatLab, JMP, MiniTab).
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a technical field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in developing quality systems for low volume, complex manufacturing environments and suppliers; familiarity with AS9100/AS6500/ISO 9001 standards.
  • Experience with IPC standards and general workmanship standards.
  • Experience with government contracts and MIL standard requirements for aerial vehicles; familiarity with tools including Teamcenter, SolidWorks/NX, Jira, Foundry, and manufacturing execution systems.
