Position Overview

The Director of Integrated Marketing plays a central role in delivering our ambitious growth plans across fan acquisition, engagement, and retention for Sporting Kansas City and adjacent brands. As a World Cup host city in 2026, accelerating fandom during this exciting time in soccer is critical. The ideal candidate, with a record of driving high, sustainable growth through digital and clear-channel strategies, will lead a data-driven, test-and-learn approach and manage cross-functional marketing initiatives in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of marketing initiatives to increase brand affinity, attendance, fan interactions, and app downloads/usage.
  • Manage a team focused on websites, campaigns, promotions, content, and consumer insights.
  • Evolve audience growth strategy by analyzing media consumption behaviors and targeting the appropriate messages.
  • Develop and champion digital growth strategies and drive execution to achieve critical growth metrics and revenue optimization.
  • Oversee the overall marketing calendar and track progress across cross-functional campaigns, including live events and partnership activations.
  • Lead acquisition efforts across various media channels including digital, social, mobile, and experiential platforms.
  • Manage the marketing budget for brand-building and growth-focused campaigns while ensuring alignment with forecasts and budgets.
  • Explore emerging marketing channels and implement data-driven experiments (e.g., A/B testing) to optimize performance and customer journeys.
  • Collaborate with creative leaders and cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive marketing strategies and performance tracking tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, with an emphasis on media or digital marketing.
  • 10+ years of experience in digital marketing.
  • 4+ years of leadership experience.
  • Proven track record in delivering commercially driven strategic marketing plans designed to drive audience growth and user engagement.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize insights into actionable opportunities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of consumers’ needs translated into a results-driven acquisition and engagement roadmap.
  • Experience with paid marketing channels such as SEM, social, digital ads, and app store ads.
  • Strong design sensibility with expertise in developing seamless, targeted user journey experiences.
  • High-level commitment to quality, organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience growing audiences and fans for TV, digital content, and/or mobile apps is highly desired.
  • Sports experience is a plus.
