Job Description

Position Overview

Redhorse Corporation is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as our Director of Engineering for the Digital Solutions Center. Based in the National Capital Region offices in Arlington, VA, this role will report to the Vice President of Digital Solutions and lead engineering support activities within the company. Redhorse specializes in developing and implementing creative strategies and solutions for private, state, and federal customers in areas including cultural and environmental resource services, climate and energy change, information technology, and intelligence services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key contributor to the development and maintenance of the Digital Solutions Catalog.
  • Develop and document best-practice methodologies, processes, and standards while engaging with project managers to refine corporate best practices.
  • Support the identification, evaluation, and selection of tools and technologies.
  • Prepare technical papers, reference graphics, and architectural designs.
  • Contribute expertise to digital workforce development plans and activities.
  • Advise on technical position descriptions and participate in the hiring process for key technical staff.
  • Serve as a mentor to existing staff and participants in the internship program.
  • Collaborate with market leads, BD and capture leads, and project managers to support competitive intelligence, market engagement, opportunity qualification, solution development, teaming, proposals, and technical staffing.
  • Advise the Vice President of Digital Solutions on corporate strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of engineering leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success as both an individual contributor and a leader on major software or systems engineering programs.
  • Expertise in developing and utilizing enterprise-scale cloud architectures, DEVSECOPS workflows, and machine learning solutions applied to government challenges.
  • Experience fielding operational systems for government customers, including achieving an Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Proven ability to drive key client communication and expectations, with experience engaging high-level Federal Government clients.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to understand complex business functionalities.
  • Proficiency with office productivity software (Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and file sharing applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Ability to work under pressure, including meeting deadlines and working long hours or weekends when required.

  • Masters or PhD.
  • Cybersecurity expertise.
  • Experience in National Security Systems.
  • Experience in Energy and Environment Systems.
  • Experience with Federal Civilian Systems.
