Position Overview
The Associate Director, Football Operations/Special Assistant to Head Football Coach is responsible for supporting the Head Football Coach with daily administrative and operational support of the Football program. Moreover, the Associate Director exercises authority and accountability when responding to inquiries and resolving complex issues. Job Status: Full time, Employee Type: Staff, Pay Grade: A11.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the Head Football Coach’s daily calendar (up to 6 months in advance).
- Handle all football operations and recruiting expense reports for the Head Football Coach.
- Assist with responding to correspondence and coordinating travel arrangements, reservations, and speaking engagements for the Head Football Coach.
- Greet visitors and serve as liaison between the Head Football Coach’s office and various departments across campus.
- Answer phone calls, direct inquiries to appropriate football personnel, and supervise office interns and volunteers.
- Coordinate autograph signing sessions, donation requests, fan mail responses, and media requests for the Head Football Coach.
- Work with the Compliance office on maintaining procedural policies and maintain confidential document files.
- Oversee the vision of the U Network by mentoring Hurricane Football Alumni, planning an annual job fair and luncheon, maintaining and expanding the U Network database, and promoting the initiative through marketing materials and guest speakers.
- Organize the UM Women’s Football Clinic including marketing, email and social media publicity, sponsorship acquisition, and event collaboration.
- Plan and execute the annual Football Wives Trip by researching restaurants, coordinating tickets, credentials, and additional events.
- Collaborate with the Director of Football Operations to plan bowl game and championship trip logistics for football staff families, including ticket distribution and catering arrangements.
- Assist on UM Football game days with ticket distribution to UM Football Alumni.
- Support the execution of the annual Football Awards Show and Senior Day.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
- Knowledge of business and management principles.
- Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
