Position Overview
Frost Brown Todd LLP, a national law firm with 1000+ legal and business professionals in eighteen offices, is seeking a full-time Lateral Recruiter to join our team. This role is vital to advancing the firm’s strategic attorney recruitment efforts with a focus on sourcing, attracting, and hiring top-tier and diverse legal talent in targeted growth markets. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, a positive and professional demeanor, precise attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while handling confidential information discreetly.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively support all aspects of the lateral recruiting cycle, including posting openings, sourcing candidates, reviewing resumes, coordinating interviews, collecting feedback, and facilitating decision-making.
- Gain a thorough understanding of the duties of various attorney positions and what is required for success.
- Develop and implement creative, innovative sourcing strategies to build and manage a robust pipeline of potential candidates and referral sources.
- Identify and engage associate- and partner-level attorneys at target firms through strategic outreach using phone, email, and LinkedIn.
- Design and execute targeted outreach campaigns aligned with strategic practice area needs.
- Serve as a trusted liaison between candidates and the firm, ensuring a positive and professional recruitment experience.
- Ensure timely and accurate entry of candidate information and recruitment activity into the firm’s applicant tracking system; generate reports, analyze metrics, and identify trends.
- Prepare recruitment-related communications and offer letters for candidates in identified growth markets.
- Collaborate with the Lateral Recruiting Director and Manager to coordinate decision-making and support follow-up tasks such as conflict checks, due diligence, and preparation of offer letters.
- Partner with leadership to proactively assess lateral hiring needs and attract qualified lateral attorney candidates.
- Provide insights on competitive market activity, candidate movement, and sourcing trends.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the firm’s recruiting brand, messaging, and candidate engagement strategies.
- Implement recruiting DEIB initiatives to cultivate a more inclusive and diverse workforce.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Minimum of three years of legal recruiting experience.
- Knowledge of legal employment issues.
- Ability to credibly discuss legal markets, practice areas, and career progression with candidates.
- Strong interpersonal skills for professional communication via email, telephone, and in person.
- Demonstrated cross-cultural skills and awareness for working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Understanding of unconscious bias and its effect on recruiting and hiring.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and handle varied duties under time constraints.
- Proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive information discreetly.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Resourceful and creative, with the ability to propose innovative recruiting solutions.
- Highly proactive, responsive, and results-driven.
- Professional demeanor and presence, capable of managing demanding workloads.
- Excellent technical skills, including mastery of Microsoft Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel, and database management.
- Proficiency with social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Instagram.
- Financial responsibility with the ability to budget and track recruiting expenses.
- Willingness to work over 40 hours per week and travel as needed; occasional weekend travel may be required.
Benefits & Perks
- Competitive Salary with estimated annual ranges of $95,000–$115,000 for California-based applicants and $85,000–$105,000 for those based in Denver. Actual pay will be determined based on skills, relevant experience, and other job-related factors.
