Job Description

Position Overview

The Associate IT Support Technician in the Office of the Mayor plays a crucial role within the Information Technology Department, ensuring the smooth functioning of computer systems and supporting end-users across the Mayor’s Office. You will assist in troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing IT equipment while contributing to efficient and effective technology operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues both during and outside of standard business hours.
  • Manage incident and request handling by logging, tracking, and updating the status of support requests.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and software applications, ensuring compatibility and functionality.
  • Perform routine system maintenance including updates, patches, backups, and monitoring for optimal performance.
  • Support wireless device management and collaborate with the Wireless Team to manage mobile device configurations.
  • Develop and update user documentation and knowledge base articles to assist in issue resolution.
  • Stay updated with the latest IT trends, technologies, and best practices for continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate or associate degree from an accredited college with at least six months of on-the-job training in hardware/software support and direct customer service.
  • Ability to provide White Glove service and troubleshoot issues effectively over the phone and on-site.
  • A four-year high school diploma (or equivalent) plus one year of related administrative, technical, or computer support experience, or a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-depth and hands-on experience with Microsoft Technologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A+ certification and familiarity with Mac systems
