Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a scanner to obtain images used to diagnose and treat pathologies.
  • Prepare and position patients while selecting appropriate anatomic and technical parameters to produce high‐quality cross-sectional images.
  • Perform patient pre‑screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.
  • Enter and monitor patient data, transfer images, and process film using automated processors.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high‑quality images and accurate documentation to PACS.
  • Monitor equipment functionality, reporting any malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, orderly department including procedure rooms, storage and dressing areas.

Required Qualifications

  • Licensure / Certification / Registration: Must obtain BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
  • Possess one or more of the following credentials obtained prior to hire or job transfer:
    • Nuclear Medical Technologist credential from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB); or
    • Radiologic Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credential from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), with Radiography (R), Nuclear Medicine Technology (N), Sonography (S) or Vascular Sonography (VS) also accepted; or
    • Medical Sonographer credential from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in any specialty; or
    • Technologist specializing in Magnetic Resonance Imaging credential from the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
  • Radiologic Technologist specializing in General Practice credential from the Texas Medical Radiologic Technologist Certification Program is preferred.
  • Education: High School diploma equivalency with 2 years cumulative experience OR an Associate's/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job‑specific experience.
