Financial Analyst (Hybrid)

As a Financial Analyst reporting to the Head of Compressors, you will analyze the commercial and financial activities of the MAHLE Engine Components Group located in our Research & Development Technical Center in Lockport, NY.

Key Responsibilities

• Support business analysis requirements of BU1 NA Controlling
• Provide general business support to the NA R&D organization
• Perform Month End Close responsibilities and Month End financial reporting
• SAP Project system reporting and analysis, various projects and AD HOC analysis as needed
• Evaluate complex profit plans, operating records, and financial statements
• Direct preparation of studies, reports, and analyses in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, governmental requirements, statistical reports, cash flow projections, and business forecasts
• Establish databases of pertinent information for analyzing future plans and forecasts
• Conduct special studies to analyze complex financial actions and prepare recommendations for policy, procedure, control, or action
• Make recommendations to management regarding cost saving, profit generating opportunities, and profitability improvement strategies
• Analyze sales and financial information to determine present and future performance
• Organize all planning and reporting activities for the BU1 Lockport Tech Center
• Identify and communicate trends and other strategic information to management
• Serve as local process owner for R&D and BU1 NA Allocations
• Interact with Project Controlling (PAC & PRC) – create projects, manage daily project-related activities for BU1 Lockport Tech Center, and analyze project status
• Handle special projects as assigned
• Travel as needed

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (B.A. / B.S.) from a four-year college or university with four years of related experience and/or training
• Excellent planning, organizing, and communication skills
• Strong analytical and financial analysis abilities
• Ability to learn and apply new tools and concepts
• Knowledge of current principles of accounting, finance, and audit
• Ability to design, implement, and manage complex processes
• Excellent Excel skills, including pivot tables and macros
• Experience with SAP, Business Warehouse, or other ERP system tools
