CAD Design Engineer In Baltimore MD

Position Overview

Artech, a top employer-of-choice for over 25 years, is seeking a Design Engineer based in Baltimore, MD. This role is a 12 Months contract with a possible extension. The successful candidate will work in an electrical utility environment where reading and interpreting electrical drawings is essential, and will be involved in building displays and developing innovative one line schematics.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn the display build application and adapt to its unique techniques.
• Build one line schematics conforming to pre-decided standards and build methods.
• Interpret electrical drawings and marked up one line diagrams.
• Manage work independently without on-site supervision.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors via email and web meetings.
• Utilize Windows environment, MS Office, work tracking tools, and SharePoint.

Required Qualifications

• Able to read and interpret utility electrical drawings and electrical one line diagrams.
• Strong design skills with an eye for detail in building displays and schematic construction.
• Experience with transmission or distribution one line display building.
• Willingness to learn new design tools and adopt new build methods.
• Basic electrical background including understanding of components such as switches, lines, and buses.
