Job Description

Position Overview

The Jr. Business Analyst V – Two Positions Available serves as a strategic liaison between juvenile probation business partners and product vendor staff during the development and rollout of the new statewide juvenile case management system. The role involves planning, business process definition, conversion, testing, user documentation, training, and ongoing application support for multiple juvenile automation projects, including the Juvenile On-Line Tracking System (JOLTSaz), Statewide Identifier (SWID), and Arizona Youth Assessment System (AZYAS). This position also supports user acceptance testing (UAT), develops training materials, and conducts training sessions for probation staff across rural county departments. After an initial three‐month in‐person period, the role may offer remote work up to two days per week based on business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between juvenile probation business partners and product vendor staff.
  • Coordinate planning and execution of statewide juvenile automation projects.
  • Support business process definition, conversion, testing, documentation, and training initiatives.
  • Assist Sr. Business Analysts in coordinating user acceptance testing, developing test strategies, plans, and cases.
  • Develop training manuals and course curricula and deliver training across probation departments.
  • Provide ongoing system support, mentorship, and participate in automation user groups and workgroups.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, computer science, information technology, management information systems, business administration, communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Ability to rapidly learn new business processes, products, and systems, with an understanding of courts, probation, and dependency systems.
  • Excellent teamwork, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proven experience in developing test plans, writing test scripts, and facilitating training sessions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in juvenile probation, dependency, or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
