Entry Level Java Developer Associate

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, code, and as required test enhancements to complex modules
• Work with Application Architects, Business Process Architects/Specialists, and other System Specialists to gather and interpret user/system requirements into design specifications
• Develop system specifications and interfaces for complex components
• Design and code applications to functional and technical programming standards
• Provide primary support for installation of application releases into production as directed
• Coordinate and participate in structured peer reviews and walkthroughs
• Plan and execute all required process steps as defined in our methodologies
• Create operational documentation for the application
• Coordinate work with other Systems Specialists on and across applications
• Provide application/technical support in a timely manner
• Review and understand the application workplan
• Meet service commitments for assigned deliverables and proactively provide work status
• Provide input to assist in determining level of effort
• Organize and prepare work effectively to facilitate proactive resolution of problems
• Assist the Client Service Team Manager in monitoring budget by providing estimated-time-to-complete (ETC) and actuals for tasks
• Continuously develop industry knowledge and associated skills
• Anticipate, identify, track, and resolve issues and risks affecting the application

Required Qualifications

• 2 or 4 year STEM Degree

Preferred Qualifications

• 6+ months Java development experience utilizing web-based applications such as J2EE, JDK, Struts, Spring, Hibernate, and HTML
• Experience with technologies including J2EE 1.5, XML, JSP, CSS, and JavaScript
• Ability to contribute to a high-performing, motivated workgroup by applying interpersonal and collaboration skills to achieve project goals
• Ability to help create an environment that facilitates high performance and motivates individuals to work collaboratively as a team
• Strong creative and analytical problem-solving skills
• Ability to complete tasks within set budgetary parameters and targets
• Proven ability to work independently as well as a team member
• Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
• Effective communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
