Position Overview

Crowe is seeking a Data Solutions Architect to lead a team of problem solvers in delivering end‐to‐end data solutions. This role supports solving complex business issues from strategy to execution, leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, and robust data architectures. Key Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert on Business Intelligence engineering platforms (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Data Platform, Snowflake, DBT) to demonstrate capabilities and maximize technology investment.
• Oversee the design and deployment of data pipelines, analytics platforms, and reporting frameworks to improve transparency and support decision-making.
• Utilize advanced analytics, machine learning, and statistical modeling techniques to detect anomalous activities and patterns in transaction data.
• Ensure data quality and integrity through best practices in data management and governance.
• Mentor and lead a team of data analysts and consultants, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Provide technical guidance and career development opportunities to junior team members.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to integrate data-driven insights into broader business strategies.
• Stay updated on evolving regulations and industry standards related to BSA/AML and financial crime prevention.
• Develop and implement frameworks aligned with regulatory changes to help clients maintain compliance.
• Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to translate regulatory requirements into actionable analytics strategies.
• Contribute to proposals and presentations for potential clients by demonstrating expertise in data analytics and regulatory compliance.
• Represent the organization at industry events and conferences as a subject matter expert in data consulting for BSA/AML.
• Drive internal innovation by identifying emerging technologies and methodologies to improve service delivery.
• Participate in presales engagements to manage vision, expectations, and create conceptual solution designs.
• Engage in the systems development process by planning, monitoring, coordinating, and communicating project status.
• Architect, implement, deploy, and support analytical databases and pipelines within an Azure environment.
• Create proofs of concept as necessary to support the architectural vision and tool evaluation.
• Document, diagram, and present complex technical material in accessible formats for non-technical audiences.
• Deliver accurate client architecture and analyses within short timeframes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field is required.
• Advanced degree (Master’s/Ph.D.) is preferred.
• Experience working in or consulting for financial services.
• In-depth understanding of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Financial Audits, or Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and compliance requirements.
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in data analytics, consulting, or financial services with a strong background in banking and regulatory compliance implementations.
• Proven track record in managing complex data projects and leading cross-functional teams.
• Experience with large datasets, data warehousing, and advanced analytics tools.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise data warehouse and data lake implementations.
• 5+ years of external client consulting experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience building automated ETL/ELT or data integration processes using multiple source systems.
• 5+ years of team management experience, including managing offshore resources.
• 5+ years of experience leading multiple external client projects simultaneously.
• 5+ years of preparing detailed external client project budget estimations with strong resource management skills.
• 3+ years of in-depth experience in architecting, designing, and implementing complex data architectures on Azure (including Azure Data Factory, Azure/Managed Instance SQL Server, Azure Logic App, and Azure Synapse Analytics).
• Experience mentoring teammates or conducting technical training.
• Possess integrity and a strong work ethic.
• Strong analytical and verbal/written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in BI (ETL tools, visualization tools, cloud architectures) are expected.
• Certifications such as CAMS (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist) or CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner) are preferred.
• Hands-on experience with comprehensive dimensional modeling and end-to-end data warehouse projects, including requirements gathering, infrastructure planning, subject matter expert interviews, model design, ETL/ELT development, data validation, and documentation.
• Previous consulting experience or experience working with external clients.
• Proficiency in analytics and statistical programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL).
• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and big data technologies.
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and cloud-based data platforms.
• Experience working on projects using agile development practices.
• Azure experience in building landing zones, provisioning resources, and establishing security is a big plus.
