Position Overview
Global Hospitality locally owns and operates four franchised limited‐service hotels in the Virginia Beach area. We are seeking a dynamic Director of Sales for our Marriott Branded Select Service hotel – Four Points by Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront – featuring 99 oceanfront rooms, two meeting spaces, and two onsite restaurants. In this role, you will be the driving force behind our hotel’s revenue growth by developing and executing strategic sales plans, fostering strong client relationships, and ensuring our hotel remains the preferred choice for business and leisure travelers, meeting planners, sports teams, and event organizers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Sales Strategies: Create and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and occupancy goals in collaboration with the General Manager and Revenue Manager.
- Identify New Business Opportunities: Explore new opportunities and target markets, and attend meetings, trade shows, and networking events to promote the hotel’s offerings.
- Business Solicitation and Negotiation: Solicit and negotiate business with new and existing clients through prospecting, sales calls, referrals, networking, and responding to leads and RFPs.
- Proposals and Contract Management: Generate proposals, negotiate, draft, and finalize contracts with clients.
- Event Coordination: Ensure banquet rooms are properly set up and that all relevant teams are informed about group details and requirements.
- Sales Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses to senior management, and participate in revenue calls.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Director of Sales, Sales Manager, or in a similar leadership role within the hotel industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, decision making, and interpersonal skills with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
- Expertise in team management with the ability to mentor, lead, and build high-performing teams.
- Experience using sales CRM software, Hotel PMS, and brand-specific sales portals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
