Manufacturing Engineer / JASSM-LRASM / Orlando FL/ Entry level with Security Clearance

Position Overview

The successful candidate will support the JASSM/LRASM program production operations team in manufacturing process development, troubleshooting, tooling concepts, and fabrication. They will collaborate closely with on-program engineers, missile technicians, and commodity shops while supporting capital planning, make-or-buy decisions, hardware setup and first-run builds, production operations meetings, customer interfacing, process simulation, and manufacturing readiness assessments. Travel up to approximately 1 week per month is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing process development, troubleshooting, tooling concepts, and fabrication for the JASSM/LRASM program.
- Assist in make-or-buy decisions, capital planning support, and hardware build setups.
- Collaborate with on-program engineers, missile technicians, and coordinate between Orlando, Ocala, and Troy commodity shops.
- Participate in production operations meetings, customer interfacing, and maintain process simulation and manufacturing readiness assessments.
- Coordinate with suppliers and implement process improvements.
- Travel as required, approximately 1 week per month.
Required Qualifications
- Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Electrical) or a related discipline.
- Technical knowledge and experience in manufacturing and testing, with familiarity in manufacturing readiness levels.
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication, with experience in virtual teams and senior leadership interactions.
- Experience with the Capital Process from planning through execution, including capital project leadership.
- Training in Lean Six Sigma and proven experience in leading SIA events.
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance and be willing to travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with missile manufacturing and production operations, preferably with Lockheed Martin experience.
- Working knowledge of LEAN methodologies and Six Sigma skills.
- Proficiency in CREO (Pro-E) with a focus on tooling, design, and fabrication.
- Understanding of GD&T, precision machining/tolerances, assembly sequences, and the identification of test points.
- Familiarity with SAP and capability to implement cost-saving solutions.
- Experience with Electro-mechanical/Optical Final Assembly, Integration, and Testing, and translating engineering specifications into effective work instructions.
