Job Description

Position Overview

Chen Moore and Associates (CMA), founded in 1986, is a highly regarded multi‐disciplinary firm specializing in utility infrastructure, roadway, site development, electrical, planning, landscape architecture, and construction engineering services. We are currently seeking an entry level or early career Engineer who is efficient at planning and organizing workloads, works well within a team, and demonstrates commitment to quality along with excellent communication skills. Key Responsibilities

  • Work on various aspects of civil engineering design, plan preparation, permitting, and construction oversight in a collaborative project team environment.
  • Contribute to projects by collecting existing utility data; performing modeling and simulation; site grading; water distribution system; sanitary sewer collection system; drainage analysis; roadway alignment; pavement marking; signage; and erosion control.
  • Prepare project design drawings using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
  • Develop project-specific detail drawings and calculate construction quantity estimates.
  • Assist with technical specifications, cost estimates, reports, schedules, and related tasks.
  • Learn and adhere to client-specific standards while coordinating with team members and client representatives.
  • Travel periodically to project sites for field investigation and construction support.
  • Support project phases including initiation, scheduling, execution, and closeout.
  • Interface with multi-disciplinary design teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering.
  • 0–2 years of experience in the A/E/C industry.
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency, project responsibility, and initiative.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of FDOT standards.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
  • Familiarity with Civil 3D and ArcGIS.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply complex systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree is a plus.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EI) designation is preferred, with the expectation of working towards Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure.
