Position Overview
PRN/As Needed: This position typically covers vacation and/or sick time and may include a steady day once every other week.
Job Title: Community Health Center Pharmacist.
Location: Howard Brown Community Health Center, 641 W. 63rd St.
Pharmacy Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 9:00AM–7:00PM; Tuesday: 10:00AM–7:00PM; Friday: 9:00AM–5:00PM.

Role Summary: In a company-owned retail contract pharmacy, our pharmacist plays an essential role in ensuring safe and efficient medication delivery. This includes administering immunizations, providing patient consultations, managing medication therapy, and potentially overseeing high-risk patient management. Cardinal Health Community Health Center programs are designed to address population health management needs from HRSA compliance to improved medication adherence.
Key Responsibilities
- Under the direct supervision of the manager, dispense medications and ensure their safe and efficient delivery to customers.
- Maintain open communication and be available for consultation with customers and practitioner sites.
- Participate in supervising technical staff.
- Ensure the pharmacy complies with best practices for 340B contract pharmacies.
- Provide professional consultation to both patients and prescribers at the partner health facility.
- Organize and direct technicians’ workflow, verify the preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals, and check order entries, charges, and inspections.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (PharmD preferred).
- Current pharmacist registration in the state where the position is located.
- Immunization certification or willingness to become a certified immunizer within 90 days of hire.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Strong interpersonal relations and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with 340B programs.
- Experience working with specialty drugs (HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C).
