Position Overview
We are searching for a Manager of Community Clinical Support. The candidate will provide direct day-to-day supervision of staff with accountability for the clinical, operational, and human resources activities associated with the Clinical Support Services within a Community Hospital setting. Areas of responsibility may include, but are not necessarily limited to, Utilization Management, Care Coordination, Social Work, Language Services, Spiritual Care, and Child Life. They will ensure and advocate for the delivery of high quality, developmentally appropriate, family centered care at the departmental level and throughout the organization by establishing collaborative relationships with Texas Children's leadership.
Texas Children's Hospital West Campus is Houston's first community hospital designed, built and equipped exclusively for children. Located at I-10 and Barker Cypress, our 515,007-square-foot hospital houses the only 24/7 pediatric emergency room in the Greater West Houston area, four operating rooms, a 16-bed pediatric intensive care unit, 46 acute care beds, advanced imaging services including MRI and CT scans, a neurophysiology sleep lab, a pathology lab and a full-scale pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinates patient care needs and collaborates with appropriate members of the health care team to achieve desired clinical outcomes and management of care across the continuum.
- Creates and facilitates adherence to professional and clinical standards among all areas supervised to achieve desired outcomes.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills with the care team and works to eliminate communication barriers.
- Serves as a liaison between physicians, families, nursing team, and ancillary departments to ensure delivery of high-quality care.
- Maintains clinical competency by ensuring that the psychosocial and developmental needs of the patient are met within a family-centered environment to promote safe and appropriate transitions of care.
- Coaches and develops direct reports to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care and compliance with all policies, procedures, and licensing requirements.
- Ensures that staff work within their scope of practice and clinical license as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a clinical discipline aligned with the required license/certification.
- Master's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of licensed/certified clinical experience.
- Must hold one of the following licenses:
- CCLS – Cert-Cert Child Life (SCLST Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP))
- MT-BC – Music Therapy-Board Cert (Certification Board for Music Therapist)
- ATR-BC – Art Therapist-Board Certified (Art Therapy Credentials Board)
- LMSW – Licensed Master Social Worker (Texas Behavioral Health)
- LCSW – Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Texas Behavioral Health)
- LMSW-AP – Licensed Master Social Worker – Advanced Practice (Texas Behavioral Health Ex Council (TBHEC))
- RN – Registered Nurse (Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse Licensure Compact)
