Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join their dynamic production team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, US. This role is critical to optimizing our manufacturing processes, driving efficiency, and ensuring the highest quality output for advanced materials. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of manufacturing principles, lean methodologies, and statistical process control.
Your Responsibilities
- Developing, implementing, and refining manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
- Analyzing production data to identify areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborating with R&D and design teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
- Leading process validation activities and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
- Troubleshooting production issues and developing long-term solutions.
- Mentoring junior engineers and technicians.
- Managing capital equipment projects and process improvement initiatives.
- Ensuring all manufacturing activities adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
- Developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Evaluating and selecting new manufacturing technologies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree: in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably in the advanced materials sector.
- Proven experience: with process improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt certification is a plus).
- Strong understanding: of statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis techniques.
- Proficiency: in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving: and analytical skills.
- Strong communication: and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
- Experience: with project management is highly desirable.
- Familiarity: with automated manufacturing systems and robotics is an advantage.
- This position requires: a hands-on approach and the ability to work effectively on the production floor.
