Key Responsibilities

  • Closed on holidays and weekends (call team only when closed)
  • Minimal call shifts
  • Flexibility in scheduling (8, 10s, 12s available shifts)
  • Opportunities for growth, certification and professional training (12 of our RNs certified in the last year and a half – CAPA and CPAN)
  • Cohesive, low-turnover team searching for engaged and high-performing RNs
  • Evaluate patients prior to surgery
  • Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process
  • Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification
  • Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and following universal protocols per hospital policy
  • Recognize and respond to patient emergencies
  • Assess patient condition, monitor throughout the shift, and thoroughly document changes and care provided
  • Educate patients and families/caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment, and follow-up measures

Required Qualifications

  • Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure (if compact license held, an active FL RN license is required within 60 days of hire)
  • On-call availability during select non-business hours
  • Nursing Diploma or ASN
  • Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Strong critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions; proficient PC skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • BSN preferred
  • Previous experience in an acute care setting is strongly preferred
