Position Overview

In this entry level role, The Yard/Warehouse Rep I is responsible for receiving, stocking, shipping, ordering, and counting inventory items while safely operating a forklift to handle lumber and other building materials. The role emphasizes maintaining an organized work environment and adhering to established safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibilities: Operate equipment safely and maintain a positive work environment.
- Assist warehouse associates and supervisors in keeping the work environment organized, including emptying trash receptacles and cleaning bays and staging areas.
- Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials and ensure proper stocking in designated bins or storage locations.
- Count and record receipt of materials and assist inventory control in organizing warehouse materials.
- Operate forklift with foot and hand controls; use it to build outgoing orders or load completed orders onto delivery equipment when necessary.
- Operate facility equipment such as banders, power tools, and various hand tools as required.
- Monitor inventory levels as directed by location management and participate in completing assigned trainings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience Required: No experience required.
- Requirements: Must perform other duties as assigned, comply with all policies and standards, and adhere to the Company’s commitment to workplace safety.
- Qualifications: Basic math proficiency, ability to read orders, write instructions and complete forms; willingness to learn to read a tape measure; effective verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally with customers, employees, and supervisors; competence in handling conflict and recognizing potential issues; proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies such as smartphones and inventory control systems.
