Analyst / Financial Economist

Position Overview

Nickerson & Associates is seeking an entry-to-intermediate level Analyst to perform data analyses using tools such as SAS and Excel, identify trends and legal exposures under US labor laws, and produce actionable reports and visualizations. This role offers a collaborative environment with opportunities for on-the-job training and independent skill development. Applicants must currently reside in the greater Seattle area.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive data analyses using software packages such as SAS and Excel.
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, detect violations, and estimate exposure under US labor laws.
• Create tools and visualizations to effectively communicate findings to clients.
• Summarize analytical results in formal reports, memos, exhibits, or slide presentations.
• Collaborate with team members while engaging in self-directed learning to enhance analytical skills.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a related analytical field with a GPA of 3.4 or higher.
• Significant coursework or experience in Accounting and strong Excel skills for data summarization and visualization.
• Excellent writing, oral communication, and overall English language proficiency.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; self-motivated.
• Must reside in the greater Seattle area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with programming data analysis tools such as SAS, SQL, Python, or R.
• Familiarity with US labor law analyses and litigation support.
• Experience with data visualization software like Power BI or Tableau.

• Compensation: $70,000 - $100,000 base pay per year (depending on skill and experience)
