Job Description

Position Overview

The Government Operations Consultant II position in the Florida Department of Health’s Contract and Services Division is responsible for independent and highly complex administrative and programmatic work. The role involves managing contractual agreements, conducting face-to-face negotiations with service providers, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with Federal and State regulations. Salary: $59,000.00-$64,000.00.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex, face-to-face negotiations with sophisticated service providers to secure new contracts, renewals, and interim revisions.
  • Develop, process, and monitor assigned contracts to ensure compliance with agency policies, statutes, and procedures.
  • Review and interpret regulations and guidelines, providing consultative guidance to both providers and internal staff.
  • Oversee administrative tasks including invoice processing, documentation maintenance, and monthly reconciliation of expenditures.
  • Serve as HR, Administrative, and Office Maintenance Liaison by coordinating new hire onboarding, ordering supplies, scheduling trainings, and supporting various committees.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of data collection, analysis, and management principles.
  • Ability to evaluate data, conduct fact-finding research, and develop alternative recommendations for improving operational practices.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Must obtain Florida Certified Contract Manager (FCCM) certification within 6 months of hire.
