Job Description
Position Overview
Jacobs' Energy and Power Solutions team is seeking an Entry-Level Electrical Engineer passionate about the energy and power market. In this role, you will work on innovative projects in power system planning, renewable energy, generation, and distribution, while enhancing your skills in modeling complex power systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct condition assessments of existing electrical systems.
- Perform feasibility and master plan studies along with detailed design and construction oversight for power generation facilities, distribution systems, and substations.
- Produce electrical calculations, reports, and construction document packages for bidding and construction purposes.
- Model complex power systems to evaluate load flow, short-circuit, and arc-flash hazards and develop relay protection strategies.
- Design lightning protection systems, grounding, and develop procurement specifications for electrical equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, technical writing, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous relevant internship experience.
- Experience with 3D modeling and viewing software such as AutoCAD, CADWorx, Revit, and NavisWorks.
- Experience with system modeling using SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or similar software.
- Authorization to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.
